Vidaris is proud to share that three of our projects were selected as award winners for the 2020 AIA New York Design Awards, with our role as a project consultant.

Vidaris' Green team, also known as sustainability, and Energy team assisted in the LEED Gold target for The Shed at Hudson Yards.  In addition, Vidaris provided (a) LEED analyses, (b) energy modeling for LEED, (c) energy modeling to demonstrate compliance with the NYC Local Law 86 that requires 25% savings in regulated energy cost and (d) compliance with the NYC Energy Code. Lastly, Vidaris has also performed analyses on moisture condensation for the entrance lobby.

2. 55 Hudson Yards : AIA NY Merit Award

Vidaris assisted the 55 Hudson Yards design team in increasing the energy efficiency of the tower, helped the building pursue LEED Gold certification, and provided energy modeling for Energy Code compliance and support for the NYC Local Law 84. Vidaris' Energy and Green teams collaborated with Vidaris' Building Envelope team, who assisted with the exterior wall, roofing and waterproofing for the project.

3. One Manhattan West : AIA NY Merit Award

Similar to 55 Hudson Yards, multiple teams at Vidaris collaborated to make One Manhattan West a success - Vidaris’ energy efficiency consulting yielded significant energy cost savings and performed THERM modeling to provide advice on the design of the lobby envelope, and the sustainability consulting supported the project's LEED Gold pre-certification, among other design initiatives.  The exterior wall, roofing and waterproofing teams together offered support during the design through to construction for the tower and its base of building storefront systems.

As stated by AIA New York, their "annual Design Awards program recognizes outstanding architectural design by AIA New York members, New York City-based architects in any location, and work in New York City by architects around the globe. The purpose of the awards program is to honor the architects, clients, and consultants who work together to achieve design excellence."

Congratulations to all project teams for a job well done!
