FISP Deemed Essential during COVID-19

April 13, 2020
 FISP Inspection

There have been a number of recent updates related to the executive order and the criteria for ‘essential' work in New York City to continue.  The following is Vidaris' understanding of FISP-related work that can continue (as of April 7, 2020):

  1. If a building has been identified as 'unsafe' status, work can continue with approval of waiver request - submitted through DOB NOW
  2. FISP (Local Law 11/98) inspections
  3. Façade-related violations that order building facades to be inspected/repaired; these violations are classified as emergency work and require the emergency work order to be posted on the building's lobby door.

Our team remains fully staffed and has the availability to perform these inspections and repairs during this unprecedented time.

You can review the below notices that the DOB has posted as it relates to FISP:

*We have received further clarification as it relates to violations; at this time, waiver applications are not available for projects without an active work permit number, and shall be addressed by placing the emergency work order (DOB violation) on site on the lobby door in order for work to continue.
